Challenge time!

I posted a new challenge today in my forum! My head admin Tracey came up with the idea of ‘You Spin Me Right Round’… meaning use lots of circles or items that could spin. I instantly thought of the 80′s song.

Here is what I made for this challenge:

Lots of circles! Tracey and Lizzie’s (GDT) projects are fantastic! Head on over to take a peek.

Also, Lizzie brought up the idea of a Smash book. This is a cool idea! It’s like the quick old school scrapping. A place to collect all those ideas you think of or see then forget when you sit down to craft.

Pretty neat! So the girls suggested we do a swap of sorts. Make a Smash Book for yourself, if you dont already have one, get it started… then we can pass them around to one another. We can add fun stuff to each others books! How cool is that? We decided not to show each other our books so they will be a surprise to each other.  So this should be tons of fun!

We also decided to send around a paper doll. A bit like Flat Stanley but a little more sassy.

She is heading out to Florida to go to Disney, she will be going to Universal Studios, a car race, clubbing, a baby’s birth, a wedding…  I cant wait to see all the pictures.

We are having a crop this weekend as well! There will be a bunch of challenges, games and prizes! Who doesnt like prizes? Our first one was a hit so we decided to have another.

Fun Stuffs!

Hey there crafty peeps! I posted a new challenge today on my forum! It’s a Clean and Simple challenge. I have to admit it was a bit difficult to not messy it up. I dont messy everything up but knowing I couldnt was hard! I was surprised I had such a hard time with it.

I realized after all my years of scrapbooking, I have never written a letter to my daughter! After staring at paper and goodies and pictures for what seemed like forever… I decided a letter would be perfect for this layout.

If you havent joined our fun group, do so! There is lots of prizes and we have a crop this weekend which will surely be prize filled like last one!

Testing… testing… is this thing on?

Seemingly it is! Well hello anyone? I have no excuses except I have been lazy and busy and busy and lazy. Want to know why? Well I’m going to tell you anyway… I started my own scrapbook forum Artistic Paper Crafting! The linked badge is over to the right. It started as a group on Cafemom. I originally started as just a member. The ownership changed a couple times and the last owner asked me if I wanted to take over the group. We ran pretty successful there for a while and then we all pretty much gave up. Then I moved the group to Facebook. As cool as that seemed, the Facebook group didnt allow for an organized group as I would have liked. So my admin (Tracey), who happens to be uber talented, and I decided that a forum would be best. So I moved the group to a maxforum. It seems to be working so far. We have a ton of fun, lots of inspiration, lots of challenges and some prizes thrown in there as well.

Then one of the members (Lizzie) approached me and a few others wondering if we could be apart of her newly updated challenge blog… Hello Cutie Challenges. Of course I said YES! Lizzie is amazingly funny and very talented. So why not play along.

Today is ‘opening’ day at HCC! Here is todays challenge:

A color challenge! These always are fun. It really shows off people’s talent. It gives everyone a chance to see what they can do with a given color palette. Here is my design:

It’s a birthday card for my mother in law… shhh don’t tell her. It’s hard to see in the picture but the scalloped edge text cardstock is inked with Broken China and Picket Fence Stickles were added on the edges. I love this color!

Completely perfect dont you think? It’s one of my faves next to Vintage photo and Peeled Paint. Tim Holtz is a freaking color genius! OK enough brown nosing. Head on over to HCC and play along! You will not regret it!

Now… since you will be going over the HCC I also want you to head to my forum APC. Are you down with the lingo yet? I’m telling you it’s a BLAST. The prizes are amazing… some sponsored and some I purchased and some my head hooker over there is donating as well. Yes I said hooker. You will get it more if you head on over and join. It’s been a long time!

I haven’t felt like blogging, I thought maybe the change in scenery would help but nope. Anyway, the major reason I am blogging today is to enter a LO in a contest at PageMaps. So hope you likey The Map, the prize and my take.

Feeling Shitty While Watching Hockey and Making Scrappy Goodness

Sorry I have been away. I have been feeling well shitty! Still do but I am getting better. See my biggest issue is when I have a day or two that I am feeling somewhat like a normal person, I try to do as much as I can to make up for what I have been not doing because I have been feeling shitty. So what does that do for me? Makes me feel shitty all over again. It’s a vicious cycle. You think I would learn by now that when I feel shitty, I need to hang low until my feeling shitty comes to a lull. Then take small steps to getting back on track. All in all this will only last a very short period of time. I have noticed lately that the more that I feel shitty, the longer it is lasting.  How awesome is that? Did you sense the sarcasm in that last statement? Yeah.

Moving on to bigger and better things. This past Saturday was the Sabres first pre-season game. I was worried the six minutes. They looked so sketchy out there. But once they got their skating legs, they pretty good. Not fantastic but good. The played against To-rotten-o Maple Leafs. The best things about these pre-season games… it helps set the tone for the season. Especially against To-rotten-o. I can’t stand when all their fans crowd HSBC arena and heckle the Sabres.

How about some scrappy goodness? This week at The Shoe, our challenge is flowers! That is all! Use flowers on you project and you can join the fun! Who doesnt use flowers of somesort? Between paper flowers, to flowers printed on paper. So easy.

That third jersey is a hit in my book. There are tons of complaints but whatever. No matter what they do no one will be happy. The guys could go jerseyless or in original gear and someone would complain.

Anyway, I cannot wait until the first game! Got to order that Center Ice! WOOT!
